CASology #274: TINY

Hello, friends!  It's that time again...Tuesday is here, and so is a new cue at CASology.

This cue made me think of how tiny we are in the grand scheme of the universe.  Last spring my family and I took a trip to Iceland, and we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights and more stars than I have ever seen here in the USA.  The tour guide who was with us had an amazing camera and took pictures of what we were seeing...check out the Northern Light and the Milky Way!

If that sight doesn't make you feel like a tiny part of the universe, I don't know what will.

Yet, tiny though we may be, we can make an enormous difference in our world.

One of my favorite quotes by Dr. Seuss is, "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."

These themes inspired my card.

Stamps: Paper Smooches (Pretty Phrases, Smarty Pants)
Inks: Memento (Tuxedo Black), distress inks (Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron)
Dies: MFT (Wonky Stitched Rectangles)
Other: Perfect Pearls Mists (Perfect Pearl)

To make my planet Earth, I used the globe from the "Smarty Pants" set and fussy cut it out of the stand.  I watercolored with distress inks, then spritzed it with Perfect Pearls Mist for some shimmer.

With this card, I'm going to throw my hat in the ring for the December Guest Designer search at Paper Smooches.

I can't wait to see how you interpret the TINY cue card this week!  Be sure to link up your card by noon on Monday (Central time). You will also be inspired by the many ways our Design Team interpreted the cue this week...be sure to check out their blogs, too!

Thanks for visiting,

  1. Thank you so much for choosing my card for Honorable Mention. I am thrilled. Your Northern Lights pictures are beautiful and what a treat to get to see them! I've always been fascinated with them. I stand outside every night when I take the dog out and watch the night sky. I can't imagine that many stars like you saw and you are right, we are such a tiny part of our universe. Your cards sentiment says it all and I love it.

  2. I love this post, Judy - beautiful photos and beautiful thoughts about our place in the world. Big hugs!

  3. Judy your photos are magnificent and what a great take on the cue word.

  4. I love everything about this post Judy. The photos, your darling card and your words. All perfect!

  5. I'm sorry I didn't get to this in my inbox earlier this week, Judy. I love your card and message and especially wanted to thank you for sharing the awe-mazing photos from Iceland! What a trip of a lifetime!! Have a great Sunday! Hugs, Darnell

  6. Thanks for your sweet comment, Judy! One of my dreams is to see the Northern Lights...for now I will have to be content to just look at your pictures! Your sweet little card is a perfect reminder of how big our earth is and how tiny we are! If you ever go to Longwood Gardens again, let me know, too!

Thanks for taking the time to comment...I do appreciate it!
